Hello Crafty friends! Today I am stopping in to share a 1 layer project with you! Well… it is almost 1 layer, I did add a couple butterflies for added texture! Today I am sharing a fun stamp set from Unity Stamp Company – You can Dream It! So let’s get started!
I started with a piece of mixed media paper and Distress Inks. I added the color to my work surface by smooshing the ink pad on my work surface, spritzed the color with water, moved the ink with my finger, then smooshed the panel onto the ink. I then dry the ink with my heat tool, add water droplets, and pick up the color with my paper towel. I continue to repeat this process with all the colors of ink I am using until I have the color and texture I am looking for. Once the panel was complete, I die cut the panel using a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Die set and created 2 ATC’s. I kept the extra sections of the panel I made as I used it for the butterfly die cuts on the ATC’s. Be sure to save these pieces, as you can always use them for future projects.
Next I stamped onto the background of each ATC using the All for Love stamp set. I added some texture using white pigment ink and a stamp from the set. I allowed the ink to dry over night. Next I added texture using a stencil and grey ink I applied the ink through the stencil using a blending brush. I added the ink through various openings in the stencil to create an uneven texture in the background.
Next I stamped the floral stems from the You can Dream It stamp set directly to the ATC. I also chose sentiments from the Art and Possibility stamp set and added these to each of my ATC’s. I love this sentiment set, it has beautiful sentiments! Once these were completely dry I added splatters to each card and then inked the edges using Distress Ink. I added several butterfly die cuts (using the distress panel from above) and a die set from my stash. I adhered these with liquid glue.
I had a lot of fun creating my project this week! I encourage you to look through your stash and possibly create a sweet note to send to a friend! It is fun to create a project with lots of color and texture without a lot of layers!
