Hi Crafty friends! I am super excited to be back today to join in the fun with the super talented Arjita and the monthly challenge over at Waffle Flower! This month the theme is Winter Birthday’s and we are focusing on Cards for Him! I had a lot of fun and I am thankful for this awesome opportunity! So let’s get started!
I was excited for this theme as I often struggle creating cards for the guys in my life! So this challenge was fun for me and allowed me to try new things! I started with a piece of Neenah card stock in 80 lb. I placed the paper down and then placed the Stripes Builder Stencil over the top and adhered it down to ensure it didn’t moved for my ink blending! I used 3 colors of distress oxide: Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, and Tumbled Glass. This stencil makes creating stripes a dream and so easy! I did one color at a time and then shifted the stencil to add the new color. The stencil is clearly marked and super easy to use! I then set this panel aside to dry!
Next I used the Classic Snowflake Die to create my focal point on my card. I die cut this several times and then adhered them together using liquid glue. Then I used my WOW embossing ink pad to prepare the snowflake for embossing. Next I sprinkled Blue Diamond Embossing Powder on my snowflake and heat set. I repeated the process 2 times to ensure even coverage!
Next I started to work on my sentiment. I used the Oversized Smile Stamp and Die set to create the sentiments for today’s card. I die cut the word smile from white card stock and die cut the inner layer 3 times. I then adhered the word smile together with liquid glue. I prepared my die cut for embossing and then heat set the word using Grey Sky at Night embossing powder. I stamped a sub sentiment from the set as well.
To complete the card I adhered the striped panel to an A2 card base. Next I adhered my snowflake and then my die cut sentiment, as well as the stamped sentiment. I used both liquid and foam tape.
I had so much fun creating today’s card and I know these sets will be fun staples to have in my collection!
I am excited to see what you make and create! Be sure to join us for this fun challenge! All the details can be found below!
