Did we mention there will be prizes? You will find this information below! So let’s get started!
For today’s project I had fun creating a bright and colorful card with some amazing goodies from Topflight Stamps! They have amazing brands, I was so excited to use a new stamp set from the amazing Tracy Evans! I absolutely love her art, her cards, journals, and of course her stamps! Today’s card is using the new Branched Heart stamp set! I started by creating a colorful background using inks in my stash. I placed the ink on my work surface, spritzed with water, then dipped my mixed media paper into the ink. I then dry the ink with my heat tool, spritz with water/add water droplets, then pick up color with a paper towel. I repeat this process with all the colors and layers until I have the texture I am looking for. I repeated this same process on a 2nd card panel.
Next I stamped the branched heart from the stamp set from Tracy Evans. I prepped my card panel with my anti static tool and then stamped the heart/branch using versafine ink in Nocturne. I then heat set the image using clear embossing powder. I then stamped the heart/branch one more time on a 2nd panel and heat embossed the heart using clear embossing powder. Once this was completely dry, I fussy cut the heart section of the embossed image, then added black ink to the edges of the cut image, added foam tape, and set it aside.
Next I stamped the butterfly from the Wings of Change stamp set. I stamped this on a section of the colorful panel I used above. I also heat set this image using clear embossing powder, then fussy cut the butterfly. I added black ink to the edges and set it aside. Next I stamped the 3 sentiments from the Branched Heart stamp set onto the colorful panel. I also heat set these with clear embossing powder and trimmed these into sentiment strips.
Next I die cut 3 pieces using the Studio Light Grunge Background Elements die set. I die cut 3 circles using the dies in the set using a section of the colorful panel. I added black ink to the edges of the circle die cuts, as well as added gold wax to sections for added texture. Next I added texture onto the background of the card panel. I used a pink ink to add text from the heart stamp along the background panel. I also added the arrow stamp in 2 sections of the background. I used white embossing powder to heat set these 2 arrows.
I trimmed the card panel using my Deckle Edge trimmer. I used my distress tool and added black ink to sections of the card panel. I then added splatters using white and pink ink to the background. Once the panel was dry I assembled the card using foam tape and liquid glue. I added a small piece of cheese cloth under the butterfly, as well as under one of the sentiments.

Hi Natasha, you are so creative. Thank you for telling us how you made the background with splatter. The colors and sentiment with the words in the dictionary look so pretty. I love the colors you chose and the cheese cloth under the butterfly give it great dimension. I can’t wait to see what you create next.
