Hi Crafty friends! I am super excited to be back today and to share a couple cards with you using 3 of the new die sets from the Tis the Season Collection – July release over at Spellbinders! This new release is amazing – you will want to check it out! You can see it here. For today’s cards I am using 3 of the new die sets from the Tis the Season Collection: Bottle Brushed Trees, Create a Christmas Sentiment, and Holiday Decorations. So let’s get started!
As soon as I saw these bottled brush tress and these sweet ornaments I fell in love! I wanted to create a couple of clean and simple cards to showcase the beauty of these dies! I started by selecting my colors of card stock for my die cutting. I spent a little time die cutting all of the elements from each of the sets using my Spellbinders Platinum, then assembling the elements together. I find when die cutting this is what works best for me and saves me time. Once everything was cut and assembled, it was time to work on my card designs. *** I also have a few extra elements that are ready to go now!
For my first card I used 2 of the new sets Bottle Brushed Trees and Create a Christmas Sentiment. I love the simplicity of these trees, they are just beautiful! I started with my base layer of white card stock. I cut a few strips of coordinating card stock using the June 2021 Large Die of the Month – Colorblock Circles and Stripes. I adhered the strips of color on the left hand side of the white card stock, then adhered the trees. I glued 2 of the trees directly to the paper, then foam mounted one of the trees for added dimension. I added the sentiment above the trees, I die cut this using a foil card stock. The sentiment is from the new set Create a Christmas Sentiment. I love this set as it allows you to create your own holiday sentiments!
For my second card I wanted to focus on these adorable ornaments from the Holiday Decorations die set. This set also has snowflakes included. I have these cut and ready to go for a future project! To create this card I started with a piece of white card stock and ran it through my Spellbinders platinum machine, using the Plaid Company Embossing Folder – from Spellbinders. I then die cut a circle near the top using Nestabilities Essential Etched Circle Die. I then chose a piece of pattern paper from my stash to create the focal point behind my ornaments. I kept with my neutral pallet. I then started to adhere everything together on a green card panel. I popped up the ornaments on foam tape, as well as one of the trees. Finally I adhered my sentiment from Create a Christmas Sentiment.
I had a lot of fun with this collection! There are so many possibilities with these new sets and are perfect for your Holiday cards this year!
