Tag It | Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hello Crafty friends I am super excited to be back today joining the team over at Simon Says Stamp for their Monday Challenge! This week the theme is Tag It! Recently this year I fell in love with tag making, there are so many possibilities! I had a lot of fun with this week’s theme and I know you will too! We can’t wait to see your take on this week’s theme! For today’s tag I used the gorgeous Christmas Botanicals Collection from Idea-Ology as my focal point for my tag! So let’s get started!

I started by die cutting my tag using kraft cardstock. I then die cut my tag again using another piece of kraft paper and one using pattern paper from my stash. (This is a previous release from Tim Holtz). Next I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Words background stamp using Versafine Ink onto the kraft card stock. I trimmed the kraft tag in half and saved the other half for another tag project I am working on. Next I used the 3D Texture Fades Mini Lumber folder. I ran the pattern paper through my die cutting machine with the mini lumber folder. I then inked up the lumber piece of pattern paper with oxide inks (see below).

Next I adhered my Holiday words background on my tag base with liquid glue. Then I adhered the mini lumber pattern paper on the bottom. I added a bit of texture with various pattern paper scraps. Before adhering them I inked the edges up with oxide inks. Next I chose my ephemera for my tag and determined the placement. I then chose a paper doll and added frosted crystal to the doll for added texture. Before adhering everything down, I added a few metallic gold splatters. Then I adhered my ephemera, paper doll, and pattern paper down. I distressed the edges a bit more to add more texture.

I tied a May Arts twine bow at the top to complete my tag! I had a lot of fun creating today’s project! I love making tags! I can’t wait to see your projects too!
