Hi Crafty Friends! I am super excited to be back today to share with you two new gorgeous die sets from Spellbinders! I am using 2 new die sets from the Stained Glass Bouquet Collection by Becca Feeken. I am using the Radiant Ovals Etched Dies and Sweet Rondure Etched Dies. I had a lot of fun with these die sets, they truly create a gorgeous stained glass look and are so much fun to work with! So let’s get started!
For my first card I am using the Radiant Ovals Etched Dies. I love the oval die cut and the beautiful blooms in this set! I wanted to create a card for a wedding shower, this set is so elegant! To begin I die cut the large oval in white card stock. To create an inlay pattern, I used the outline oval and the oval insert together on white card stock. I placed these down on my die cutting machine on top of white card stock. I added washi tape to make sure they didn’t shift. I then glued the white outline onto my base oval. I followed the same process for the floral swag. I did repeat this process 2 times, as I will need one for the top layer once the color inlay was completed.
Next I chose the colors for my floral swag. I am using the Assorted Pack Color Essential – Spellbinders card stock. The colors in this sample pack are gorgeous and the quality of the paper is just AMAZING! I ran both the pink and green card stock through my die cutting machine using the Floral Swag insert die. Once it was die cut, I carefully placed the die cut pieces in order on my glass mat. This helps with piecing the floral image back together. I place a small amount of glue and then use my jewel picker to pick up the color for the leaves and flowers, then carefully inlay them on my white floral swag. I found this process relaxing and enjoyable!
I followed the same process for the oval die cut as well. I used a watercolor background I had created to inlay the oval. Once the inlay was complete on both the floral swag and oval, I glue the outline layer on top to complete each piece. I wanted to add a bit of texture to the background, to do this I used the beautiful Plaid Company Embossing Folder – Spellbinders on white card stock. I adhered this to a white card base. I then trimmed a strip of the pink card stock and adhered this to my card panel. Then I glued the oval to the panel and used foam tape to adhere the floral swag. I added a sentiment from the May 2021 – Clear Stamp of the Month Club. I heat embossed this and used gold embossing powder. I then adhered the sentiment using foam tape. I am loving these new sentiments in the May club! Stay tuned for more beautiful inspiration using the May clubs!
For my second card I am using the beautiful Sweet Rondure Etched Dies. I followed the same process to create the die cuts for the Rondure Rim/Insert, as well as the Large Rose Outline/Insert, Rosebud Outline/Insert, and the leaves outline/insert. For the top layer on this one I did use a silver glitter card stock.
Next I chose the colors for my roses and leaves . I am using the Assorted Pack Color Essential – Spellbinders card stock. I die cut these using the spellbinders card stock and followed the same process as shared above to create the color inlay. On these I did add the silver glitter card stock on the top layer once the inlay was complete.
Next I created the panel for my card base, using the Assorted Pack Color Essential – Spellbinders card stock. I started by cutting down a piece into an A2 card base size. I then used the April 2020 Large Die of the Month to add the scallop die cut. Once this was complete I still felt it needed some more texture. I used the Simply Perfect Florals Embossing Folder. Then I adhered this to an A2 card base. Next I glue the Rondure onto the card front and then used a combination of foam adhesive and glue to adhere the roses and leaves. I then added a sentiment using the May 2021 – Clear Stamp of the Month Club. I stamped this using Versafine Black ink and adhered using foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed these cards using this gorgeous new collection by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders!
