Hi Crafty friends! I can’t believe it is November already! I always love the beginning of the month, it is an exciting time for crafters and the AMAZING Spellbinders clubs! This month is so beautiful and I know you will love all the beautiful clubs this month! You can find the November Small Die of the Month here, as well as the Clear Stamp of the Month here. You will love both of these new collections, they are perfect for your holiday card making! The November Small Die is called Stitched Curved Border and Ornaments, the Clear stamp is called Around the Holidays. So let’s get started!
I started by die cutting my elements from the small die using white card stock. I started with the ornaments for my card today. I cut the outer layer of each ornament 2 times to build dimension for each ornament. Next I created small panels with embossing powder. I applied my embossing ink to a white card stock using a brayer, then applied the embossing powder and heat set each one. I use 3 new colors from WOW Embossing Powder (see below). Once these were heat set, I set these aside to cool prior to die cutting. Next I die cut each layer of the ornament and then adhered them together using liquid glue. I also cut 3 ornament holders using the die in the set using metallic card stock. I set these aside.
Next I started to work on my background for the ornaments. I wanted to create a dimensional background for the ornaments and was inspired by my friend Dilay Nicar and a card tutorial she shared. I die cut several circles in 2 sizes using Essential Circles die set. On several of the circles I added some texture using the circle piercing die included in the set. As well as added some foiling to 3 of the circles using the Essential Due Lines Circle die set. I used my Spellbinders Glimmer machine to add the foiling and followed the instructions included with my glimmer machine. Once my details were complete for the circles, I began to adhere them together. Each circle is 3 pieces of card stock. I love the dimension this provided.
Next I started to work on my circle placement and once I was happy with the placement on my card panel, I adhered them using liquid glue. I then adhered my ornaments and the coordinating string to the circle panel, then adhered this panel to the card base.
Finally I chose a sentiment from the Glimmering Greetings 2 set and used my glimmer machine to foil the sentiment. I then adhered this to my card panel front and my holiday card is complete using the November Small Die of the Month.
Did you see the snowflakes on my envelope? I used one of the stamps from the November Clear Stamp of the Month set and heat embossed this in gold on my envelope! I love the added shine!
