Hi Crafty friends! I am so excited for this month’s Club Memberships at Spellbinders! They are all amazing and so beautiful!! Today I am joining in a fun and inspirational blog hop with Spellbinders! Thank you for joining our hop – I am excited you are here! You can begin the hop over at the Spellbinders Blog – I am excited you stopped by! You will see Giveaway information below – check it out! If you started the blog hop at the beginning you arrived here from the super talented Jennifer Snyder. Come join me as I share a card idea using the November Small Die of the Month collection – Stitched Curved Border & Ornaments. Let’s get started!
I started by die cutting each of the ornaments from the Stitched Curved Border & Ornaments – November Small Die of the Month. I cut the base layer out of white card stock for each of the 3 ornaments. I die cut 2 layers of white for each ornament. I then glued these together for each one and set them aside. Next I die cut the decorative element for each ornament. I used colored card stock for this layer. I used 2 shades of blue from a paper pad. I also kept the inlay pieces for each ornament. (I did cut an extra inner circle in the opposite color for the in-lay pieces). Once these were die cut I glued the blue layer down on top of the white base layer. I also die cut the ornament holder and a bow die cut (previous small die – October 2021). For the ornament topper and bow, I used a foiled card stock.
Next I started to build my ornaments. I glued on the ornament topper, as well as the bow to each ornament. Then I glued the inlay pieces in the opposite shade of blue. I placed a small amount of glue in each section and then used my jewel picker to adhere the small pieces. Then I found a silver string in my stash and cut one for each ornament. I placed it through the hole and adhered it to the back of each ornament with a piece of tape. I set these aside to work on my background.
This month’s small die set also includes a stitched border die, as well as 2 scallops. These are so AMAZING and create such beautiful texture. To create the background I started with a piece of Neenah card stock. I started with the stitched border die. Once I determined placement for the stitched die, I ran it through my die cutting machine. Next I ran the scallop border through, lining up the areas from the stitched border to create a scalloped edge at the bottom of my card! Next I used the center pieces from each of the ornaments included in the kit to create dimension and texture behind the ornaments. I set this panel aside.
I wanted to add a bit more color to my card, so I chose the Poinsettia die from the Birdhouses through the Seasons collection – from the Winter set. The link is included below. I die cut the Poinsettia 6 times, as well as the leaves. Next I started to adhere the flowers together. I placed a small dot in the center of each flower using the metallic card stock.
To complete my card I stamped the Happy Holidays sentiment from the – Around The Holidays – Clear Stamp of the Month set on an A2 panel. Finally I adhered the ornaments panel to the stamped panel, then adhered my floral die cuts.
I had so much fun with this month’s clubs! Each club is truly beautiful and I can’t wait to see what you create! I know you will love these memberships!
