Small Die of the Month: Spellbinders

Hi Crafty Friends! I am super excited to be back today to share with you 2 club kits from Spellbinders. I had a lot of fun working with this month’s Small Die of the Month and the Clear Stamp of the Month – Sending Floral Wishes! This month is all about the mini slimline using the new club – Decorative Mini Slimline Card Creator! The details in these dies are just so beautiful and coordinate so well with this GORGEOUS floral! So let’s get started!

I started by stamping the Clear Stamp of the Month – Sending Floral Wishes onto Canson XL watercolor card stock. I used my WOW embossing ink pad and heat set the image using Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder from WOW. I then worked in layers to color on this gorgeous floral stamp using my Karin markers. I allow each layer to dry between coloring. Once my image was colored I used my Scan and Cut to fussy cut the stamped image. I then set this aside while I worked on creating my card base.

I die cut the Decorative Mini Slimline Card Creator – Small Die of the Month using Neenah 80 lb. cardstock. I started with the 2 largest dies and taped them down to ensure they would be straight. I ran these through my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine. I then added the center decorative die and adhered this to my paper and ran this through my die cutting machine. I wanted to add a bit of “drama” to the card, so I added a dark navy blue cardstock behind the white mini slimline die piece. I adhered the white mini slimline piece onto the blue. To complete the card I foam mounted the floral piece and chose a sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month – Sending Floral Wishes , I heat embossed this on the same navy blue card stock and glued this to my card panel. I added a few sequins and my card was complete!
