Hello Crafty Friends! I wanted to stop in here to share with you I am up on the Unity Stamp Company Blog today sharing a new card using the Rebuild Your Life Stamp set! This past week Unity had a Retro Revival release where several sets were rereleased! I loved this idea and seeing some “older” sets come back and bring new inspiration! It is a great reason to check out your stash too! So let’s get started!
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I ink blended the panel using 2 colors of Distress Oxide Ink: Antique Linen and Victorian Velvet. Once the panel was dry, I prepped the panel with my embossing buddy, then stamped the beautiful flower from the Rebuild Your Life stamp set using Versafine Ink in Nocturne, applied clear embossing powder, and then heat set it. I then colored the flower using my zig markers. I work one layer at a time going from lightest to darkest, allowing each layer to dry. Once my coloring was complete I set the panel aside.
Next I chose some ephemera and pattern paper from my stash to create the background panel, as well as additional pieces for my card. I dry embossed the pattern paper panel using a heart embossing folder from my stash. Once the panel was embossed, I then added Oxide Ink to the panel using Walnut Stain and Scorched Timber. I then trimmed the panel using my deckle edge trimmer. I distressed the edges a bit more with my distress tool and then distress ink. I did the same with the additional ephemera.
Next I stamped one of the tickets from the Valentine Tickets stamp set. I trimmed the ticket using my scissors, then distressed the ticket using Distress Ink in Ground Espresso. I wanted to add a bit of stitching to one piece of ephemera using my sewing machine. I then began to assemble my card. I adhered the dry embossed panel onto a kraft card base. Next I added the ephemera onto the card panel. I then tore the flower colored panel to add a distressed/rustic look. I then popped this up onto the panel using foam tape. I added a few metallic splatters to the floral piece. I completed the card by adhering a piece of lace with liquid glue, as well as the ticket with foam tape. I then die cut a heart using the Newspaper Greetings pattern paper. I distressed the paper with oxide ink, then added a bit of Foundry wax for an added vintage touch.
I had so much fun creating a Valentine card today using the Rebuild Your Life stamp set! I encourage you to get inky and pull out some of your favorite Unity Stamp sets! Be sure to share them with us over on the Unity Show and Tell facebook group too!
