Hi Crafty friends! I am excited to be back to share with you the new April 2022 Amazing Paper Grace die of the month from Spellbinders. This set is amazing and is called the Pop Up 3D Vignette Watering Can Bouquet! This set is truly AMAZING – I feel in love with the watering can and couldn’t wait to ink it up and create a “rusty” looking watering can! I am huge lover of antiques and this watering can and sweet daises gave me this feeling! This set includes dies to create pop up cards and the watering can will stand on it’s own! I decided to do something a bit different and use this set in my journal! So let’s get started!
As I shared above I wanted to create a rusty patina on my watering can! I fell in love with the watering can and wanted to add this to my journal! I love crafting for this reason – there are so many ways to use your craft supplies and the monthly clubs at Spellbinders allow you to create in so many different ways! I started by using Distress Oxides on Neenah 80 lbs. cardstock. I applied the ink to my glass mat, spritzed with water and then continued to add color to create the rusty look. I used: Walnut Stain, Cracked Pistachio, and Spiced Marmalade. Once my background was created I used the dies within this set to die cut the watering can. The watering can also has 2 inlay pieces which emboss the can, adding more texture to the die cut! Once it was die cut, I adhered everything together with liquid glue. I also added Tim Hotlz Foundry wax to areas of the watering can for a “rusty” look.
Next I stamped the sentiments from previous Clear Stamp of the Month sets from Spellbinders. I stamped 3 sentiments using Versafine Ink and then die cut them using the Swallowtail Tags die set. I set these aside and started to work on my background within my journal. To create the background and the the color for my floral images I used Lindy’s Gang Magicals. I used the Deutsch Desserts (newest set) and Galactic Teal from Nuneka’s Outer Space. I applied the color to mixed media paper for the flowers and leaves and allowed them to dry. Once they were dry I die cut the floral and leaf images from this months set. I then adhered the florals together!
In my journal I used modeling paste and a stencil from my stash. I applied the paste in various sections and allowed it to dry, then I applied the magicals powder to add more interest and color. Once the background was dry, I adhered my watering can, as well as some pattern paper from my stash at the top of the journal page. I then carefully adhered my sentiments at the top of the page.
This completes my project using the April 2022 Amazing Paper Grace die set! I know you will love it and I can’t wait to try a pop up card too!!!!!!!!
