Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts October 2024 Card Kit of the Month, Monthly Minis, as well as Extraordinary Extras This month’s release is amazing and it is all about the holidays. I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!
For my first project I am sharing a holiday project using the October Card Kit of the Month! I had a lot of fun creating a vintage inspired card using items in the kit! I used the Washi Sticker pack as the main images for my project! I started by choosing the washi stickers and placing them onto scrap card stock. I then fussy cut the images. Once the images were fussy cut I inked the edges using Core Ink in Caramel and Espresso.
I then created additional ephemera using the stamp and die set included in the kit. I stamped the images using Onyx Pigment Ink and then heat them using Clear Embossing powder. I then colored the images using my Zig markers. Once they were die cut, I inked the edges for an added vintage feel using Caramel and Espresso Core Ink.
Next I created the background. I started with a piece of Luxe White watercolor paper. I used 2 colors of Reactive inks, including a new Reactive Glitz Ink. I love the added shine! I used: Root Beer and Byzantine Green Glitz Reactive Inks. I ink smooshed the background building layers of color. Once I was happy with the colors, I allowed the background to dry.
Once the background was dry, I used the included Cling Stamp from the kit – Holiday Treat Words to add additional texture. I stamped the image along the background using Sand and Espresso Core Ink. I then die cut the background using Nesting Postage Dies.
Next I adhered all the layers together using a combination of foam adhesive, as well as liquid glue. I added additional texture using White Acrylic Spray. I used the spray to create splatters. I also applied Olive Hero Wax for additional texture along parts of the edge. I completed the card with a sentiment from the card kit. I stamped the image using White Pigment Ink and heat embossed the sentiment using White embossing powder. I stamped the image onto Palm card stock. I die cut additional layers for added dimension. I added a piece of lace from my stash as well.
I love this card kit and I know you will too! It is the perfect addition for all your holiday makes!
For my next project I used 2 items from the October Monthly Mini Release! I used the Gingerbread Town Cling background stamp, as well as the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month. I prepped a piece of hot press watercolor paper with my anti-static powder tool. I then stamped the image using White Pigment Ink and Heat embossed using white powder. I then colored the background using my Karin markers.
I worked in layers while coloring. Once everything was complete I chose a holiday sentiment from the new Holiday Messages stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto Pitch Black card stock using white pigment ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I used the coordinating die to cut the sentiment. I die cut 2 additional layers for added dimension as well.
I trimmed the panel using my Nesting Rectangle dies, then adhered the panel to an A2 card base! This card was super fun and relaxing to put together!
