Hello Crafty friends I am so excited to join Hero Arts this month for their release of the Hero Arts March 2024 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on release! This month’s release is amazing and it is all about experiencing the breathtaking beauty of misty mountains and tranquil waters. I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. Today I am sharing a card example using the Premium Kit. So let’s get started!
I started with a piece of Luxe White Watercolor paper. I created a colorful background using a combination of Two Tone Sprays, as well as Reactive Inks to create all the color and texture. I love how these 2 mediums work so well together! For the Two Tone Sprays I used: Bright Yellow & copper, Ocean Blue & Gold, and Spring Green & Gold. For the Reactive Inks I used: Blue Raspberry, Licorice, Root Beer, and Fog. I started working with my sprays first. I applied color directly to my watercolor paper, spritzed with water, dried with my heat tool, added water droplets, and then picked up color with my paper towel. I repeated this process with all the sprays, as well as the reactive inks to get the color and texture I was looking for. I allowed the panel to completely dry.
Once the panel was dry, I dry embossed the Cover Plate Window die included in the kit onto my colorful panel. I then die cut the center using my Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies. I die cut 2 more circles using Palm Cardstock to place behind the texture window die. On the window circle I added texture and dimension using Hero Arts Embossing Powder in: Iridescent Bronze, Iridescent Green, Brass, and Brick. I work with one powder at a time, then continue to build the layers with all the powders! I love the dimension this creates. Once the embossing was complete, I adhered layers together using Precision Glue.
I then added the Transfers included in the kit to the background in various sections. The Hero Transfers are so easy to use. I cut the sections of the transfers I wanted to use, then added them to my colorful background using the stick included in the transfers package.
I trimmed the card panel using the Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity Dies. I then distressed the edges using Hero Arts Core Ink. I applied ink to the card panel, as well as the circle in the middle. I used: Caramel, Espresso, and Pitch Black Ink.
I completed the card with a sentiment from the Premium Card kit. I used Pitch Black Card stock and heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. I added a few splatters, then adhered the card panel to an A2 top folding card base, adhered the circle window, as well as the sentiment. I had so much fun with this kit and you will too!
March Add On Project: For my next project I am using the beautiful new Origami Paper Bold Print background stamp! I love background stamps! They are so versatile and this background is just beautiful! I started with a piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. I added Reactive Inks directly to the Bold Print stamp. I used: Fruit Punch, Lemon Drop, and Creamsicle inks. I used my stamping platform for this technique. I applied one color of ink at a time to my stamp, stamped the image onto the paper, repeated, I also spritzed the ink with water directly onto the stamp as well for added texture. I repeated this procress until I had the color and texture I was looking for.
Once the panel was completely dry, I trimmed the panel with the Nesting Postage Stamps Infinity Dies. I then applied Cherry Core Ink to the edges for added texture as well. I then added Gold splatters to the background for added texture.
Next I chose 2 colors of Hero Hues cardstock: Papaya and Canary. I die cut stars from these colors using the Hero Arts Infinity Star Dies. I die cut several layers for each for added dimension and adhered them together with Precision Glue. I then ink blended onto the cardstock for added interest. I used: Cherry, Papaya, and Lemon Yellow Core Inks. Once the ink was completely dry, I added Hero Wax in gold to sections of the stars.
I completed the card with a sentiment from the Crane Wishes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto Pitch Black Card stock and heat embossed using White embossing powder. I also used the coordinating die to create layers under the sentiment for added dimension. I adhered Origami Bold Print background onto an A2 card base, then added the stars, as well as the sentiment! I had so much fun with this background! There are so many possibilities with these sets!
