Hi Crafty friends! I am super excited to be back today to share the AMAZING and beautiful new release from Simon Says Stamp: Make Magic. You can see the release here – check it out! I know you will love it! For my first card I am using 2 new products from this release: Stained Glass Background and Magical to Me! I love background stamps and this is going to be a favorite in my collection! So let’s get started!
I started by prepping my Strathmore watercolor card with my aniti-static tool. I knew I wanted to heat emboss this gorgeous Stained Glass background and to create a rainbow with distress inks! Once my card stock was prepped, I stamped the background stamp onto my watercolor paper using embossing ink. I stamped the image using my Misti stamping tool. I wanted to stamp this a couple times to ensure a clear/crisp image. I then heat set the image using WOW embossing powder – Bright Opaque White. Now it was time to use my distress inks and to create a colorful background!
I chose 3 colors of Distress Inks for my background: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Peacock Feathers. I started by “smooshing” the ink pad onto my glass surface. I then spritzed the ink with water and then “smooshed” the cardstock onto the glass mat. I repeated this process with all 3 colors, allowing each color to slowly move into one another. I repeated this process several times until I had the coverage and colors I was looking for. I love the fun colors you can achieve just from these 3 ink pads! Once it was complete, I set it aside to dry and then die cut this using a rectangle die.
For the next part of my card I started to work on the sentiments, from the Magical to Me set. I chose the large Magical, as well as 2 sub sentiments! This set is fun, as you can build your own sentiments, truly perfect for many occasions! I stamped all of the sentiments using embossing ink and then heat set these using Metallic Silver Sparkle powder from WOW! I love the added shine these sparkles give! I also followed the same process using the stars included in this stamp set! I then fussy cut the “magical” sentiment and trimmed both of the sub sentiments.
Finally it was time to put everything together! I glued the colorful panel to my A2 card base. I used foam tape on the sentiment, as well as a few stars. I then glued the rest of the stars to the panel. To complete the card I added a few sequins from a previous SSS card kit.
I hope you enjoyed this card!!!!!!! Be sure to check out this release! I know you will love it!
