Let’s Chill… Simon Says Stamp

Hello Crafty friends! I am excited to back today sharing the newest release with you from Simon Says Stamp – Let’s Chill! This release is awesome… packed full of new stamps, dies, stencils, embossing folders, as well as the final 15 ink colors and reinkers! You can see the new release here – Let’s Chill. For my first card I am using the new Fresh Fruit Background stamp! I just adore this stamp and had a lot of fun! I started by inking up the background with the new Morning Pawsitively Ink color. This is a beautiful blue! I stamped the background onto Neenah 80 lb card stock using my Misti. I stamped the background 2 times to ensure a crisp image. Next I started to color in the fruit using several inks from my stash. I used the new Detailed Round Blending Brush set to apply the ink! These were awesome and super easy to use. The round, small brush allowed you to get into the nooks and crannies easily! I worked in layers, applying ink in various shades. Once it was complete I trimmed the panel using my paper cutter. Next I distressed the edges using my Tim Holtz distress tool.

I added a bit more distressing to the edges of the card panel using 2 shades of embossing glaze in the colors: Walnut Stain and Antique Linen. I applied embossing ink first with a blending tool, applied the glaze, and heat set with my embossing tool. I darkened up the edges a bit more using Archival Ink.

Next I die cut the Hugs sentiment. I die cut the shadow layer in white and the inner script layer in black cardstock. I die cut the inner script 2 times and then adhered everything together with liquid glue. I stamped a sub sentiment from the new stamp set – Soaring Birthday. This is a super fun set with fun stamped images, as well as awesome sentiments, perfect for birthday cards! I also applied ink to the edges for a distressed look. I added foam tape behind both sentiments for added dimension.

Next I adhered my card panel to an A2 card base. Then I tied twine around the card panel and added my sentiments to complete my card! I just adore this stamp and it has so many fun possibilities!
