Hi Crafty Friends! I hope you are having a gorgeous weekend! The sun is shining here and the warmer weather feels so good! For today’s card I am using a gorgeous new layering stamp from Spellbinders – Layered Wildflowers! This stamp set is so beautiful – I wanted to make a couple notecards to have on hand! This set has so many beautiful possibilities! Let’s get started!
To begin my cards I started with 2 pieces of Canson XL watercolor card. I taped these down onto a hard board as I wanted to watercolor the backgrounds! I created a watercolor background using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used a mix of blues, as well as a bit of purple. I added 2 layers of color, however used soft colors to create the backgrounds. I wanted the focus to be on these gorgeous Wildflowers! I set these aside to dry and once they were dry, it was time to begin stamping!
I placed my panels inside my Misti stamping tool to ensure I could repeat stamping as needed. I thought this would be best since I am using Canson XL watercolor card. I do like the texture the paper allowed the florals to have. I stamped the gorgeous flowers, stems, and leaves using premium dye inks. I continued to stamp each panel until my field of florals was complete.
Once my images were completely stamped, I added splatters to each of my card panels. I love to add splatters to my cards! Do you? Once these were dry, I then die cut each panel using the Spellbinders – Essential Rectangles die set.
I decided to make these into notecards for now. I chose not to add a sentiment. I feel these are a great way to send someone a quick note or even a quick hello, or a thinking of you card! On the pink, purple, and yellow floral card, I used a new embossing folder from Spellbinders – Sun Rays to create a background behind my Wildflower panel. I completed my cards by adhering them onto A2 card panels.
I love this new layered stamp set – it is truly whimsical and so beautiful!
