Hi Crafty Friends! I am excited to be back today to share a card using a couple of new goodies from Simon Says Stamp new release: Be Creative! Today I am sharing how I created a soft color palette to create a congratulations card using the new You Did Stamp set, as well as the You Did Words die set. So let’s get started!
I started with the Jumbled Hearts background stamp. I heat embossed the background onto Canson XL watercolor card stock using a clear embossing powder. I added a light was of color using my Zig Clean and Color markers. To create the color wash I scribbled color onto my glass mat, spritzed with water, then dipped the paper into the color. I repeated the process using several shades of blue. Once the panel was dry, I trimmed the panel to 4 x 5 1/4 using my Tim Holtz distress paper trimmer. I then used the distress tool to add a bit more texture. I then set it aside.
Next I die cut the You Did Words die inner layer using black card stock 3 times. Then I heat embossed card stock using WOW Weathered Gold powder and then die cut the words one more time. I then adhered all the layers together with liquid glue. Next I die cut the outer layer/shadow using vellum. Then I chose a pink piece of scrap from my backgrounds bin. I die cut a few hearts using the Stacked Hearts die set from Sizzix/Tim Holtz in pink, as well as in Weathered Gold. Then I tore a piece of the pink background panel, as well as a piece of pattern paper. I then adhered these together using liquid glue.
Next I added a bit of sewing to both the card base and the strips of paper. Once the sewing was complete, I adhered the panel onto an A2 card base. I then adhered the die cut sentiment, hearts, and the sub sentiments. The sub sentiments are from the You Did stamp set. This set is so versatile and fun, it has elegant sentiments, as well as sentiments with humor!
This completes my card for today! Be sure to hop on over to Instagram as well, Simon Says Stamp is hosting a new release hop, its AMAZING and full of gorgeous ideas!
I will be back soon!

Natasha
