Hi Crafty friends! I am super excited to be back with you today to share a card I created using the beautiful new Holiday Florals Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die set. This set is from the beautiful new Christmas Traditions collection. This set is gorgeous – I love Poinsettia’s, they are truly beautiful! Now we combine this gorgeous floral with foil….. so much fun and so beautiful! So let’s get started!
I started by heating up my Glimmer Hot Foil system according to the instructions included in the kit. While this was heating up I started to prepare my foil, as well as the dies and the card stock. For the floral images, leaves, berries, I used Pewter Foil – from the Metallics Variety Pack. I followed the instructions included in the glimmer foil system and used washi tape to secure the dies to my card stock. I repeated this process a couple times to ensure I had enough of each element. I used my Spellbinders platinum machine to run the dies/foil/card stock through. I then die cut the elements and set these aside.
Next I started to work on my A2 card panel for the layer under my floral images. I used 2 glimmer dies here: Diamond Floral Frame and Twinkle Lights. I used the Metallics Foil 4 pack here as well – in silver. I followed the same process as shared above following the instructions with the glimmer foil machine. I then trimmed the panel using the Essential Rectangles die set. I then adhered this panel to an A2 card base.
Next I wanted to add some color to the floral images and the leaves. I used my Rubbernecker stamps dye ink cubes (Color Fuse) and finger blending brushes to apply the ink. I carefully blended adding light and dark shades of color to the flowers and leaves.
Next I started to adhere all the floral images to my card front. I used a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive. To complete my card I chose a sentiment from the Holiday Sentiments Series 2 – Glimmer sentiments. I foiled these using the same metallics collection. I die cut the sentiment using the die included in the set, and adhered this with some foam tape.
