Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi Crafty friends! I wanted to stop in and wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day! I wanted to share a fun new digi stamp just released by Alex Syberia – Be My Valentine. I love this A2 panel digi stamp – it is all ready to go for you!

I love working with Alex’s digi stamps, they are wonderful to work with and so easy to use! I printed the Be My Valentine panel on Fabriano Hot Pressed watercolor card stock. For today’s card I watercolored these cute gnomes using my Peerless watercolors. I love these colors, they are super bright and easy to work with! I did very simple coloring for today’s card. I let each layer dry before adding more color.

Once my coloring was complete it was time to work on my background. I started by choosing a piece of pattern paper. I chose a piece from Mixed Media Paper Pack – Alex Syberia, by Maker Forte. The papers in this pack are AMAZING! I can’t wait to use them again! I trimmed down the panel using a rectangle die from Hero Arts. I decided I wanted to add a bit more shine to this Valentine card, so it was time to try my Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer system! I must admit I have had it a few months, but was nervous to try it! I am so happy I tried it!

I started with the Essential Glimmer Circles – Spellbinders. Once I decided which circle to use, I carefully followed the instructions with the system and after a couple mistakes (on my part), I was FOILING! I love the added shine to my card! I then die cut the circle using a circle die. I then chose a sentiment from Yana’s Sentiments – Sending Love. I also foiled this using the pink foil from my original kit. Then I die cut the sentiment. I also added Stickles to the doughnut and his glasses!

To complete the card I adhered everything together. I used foam tape behind these adorable gnomes! I hope you will visit Alex’s ETSY shop! I have been a huge fan of Alex’s work for a long time! She is an incredible artist and card maker!
