Hi crafty friends! I am so excited for the first of the month! It means we are getting closer to spring and that makes me happy! I also love the first of the month because it means the new memberships are now available at Unity Stamp Company! Today I am sharing my first card using the new March 2020 Kit of the Month! This kit is packed full of amazing red rubber stamps!
The kit of the month is one of my favorite kits! It is full of amazing stamps for the month! The March kit is so beautiful too! I couldn’t wait to ink up the beautiful tulips in this awesome rustic vase! I stamped the image using alcohol friendly ink. I wanted to try my hand at some alcohol marker coloring again! I created a card last week too using my alcohol markers and I wanted to try it again! For my coloring I used a variety of colors. I did combine 2 marker brands for my coloring, Copic and Ohuhu markers! I was very pleased with the color blending I could achieve today! I worked from darkest to lightest. Once my coloring was complete, I used my Scan and Cut to trim my vase and flowers! I then set this aside!
For the background of my card I chose the beautiful Chicken Wire background stamp. I used using my WOW embossing Ink pad and stamped the background onto Canson XL watercolor card. I stamped the image several times to ensure a good impression. I then heat set the background using WOW embossing powder – Trio Ancient Jewel/Royal Emerald! I am LOVING my new powders and the hints of green and gold in this color are so beautiful! I repeated this background process a couple more times by moving my background stamp within my Misti stamping tool. I then chose 3 distress inks: Milled Lavendar, Evergreen Bough, and Tea Dye distress inks. I placed these one color at a time on a piece of acetate, added a bit of water, and then smooshed the color onto the background. I continued until I was happy with the result.
To complete my card, I die cut the background panel using a Gina Marie Designs double stitched rectangle die. I then did the same using a piece of aqua card stock from my stash. I then adhered the 2 background panels together. I stamped a the sentiment from the March 2020 Kit of the Month. I then adhered my card together with Art Glitter Glue Adhesive and foam mounted the tulips/jar.
I hope you enjoyed my first card using the March 2020 Kit of the Month. Be sure to check out all of the monthly memberships Unity has to offer:
