Hi Crafty Friends! I am excited to be back today wishing Spellbinders a very Happy Birthday! Spellbinders is an amazing company with gorgeous dies, papers, and so much more! I truly love working with their products and I am happy to help celebrate their AMAZING company today – wishing them a Happy Birthday! For today’s project I am using several new products from their newest release – Birthday Celebrations Collection! This new release is amazing and has so much to choose from – you can see it all here! Today’s card features the new Topsy Turvy Cake Etched Die set, as well as the Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing Folder, and the Stylized Happy Birthday die set! So let’s get started!
I started my card with the Topsy Turvy Die set. I wanted to create my main focal image first. I started by die cutting 3 cake layers. I used the 3 largest layers in the set. I die cut them using Spellbinders Card stock using 3 colors from the variety pack. Once I had all my layers cut I added some ink blending to the cake layers using Distress Oxide inks, in the colors Picked Raspberry and Broken China. Next I adhered the layers together for each section of the cake using liquid glue. I also die cut alternating colors for the in lay pieces on the cake layers for added visual interest and more color. I then adhered all 3 layers together and added foam tape to the back of the cake and set it aside. Next I die cut a few streamers in coordinating colors and set them aside.
Next I used the Hand Drawn Scallops Embossing Folder. I ran this through my Spellbinders Platinum machine using Neenah 80lb card stock. I then trimmed the panel using my paper trimmer. Next I adhered the Scallop panel onto a coordinating pink panel of card stock cut to an A2 size.
Finally I die cut the sentiment Happy Birthday using Neenah card stock for the shadow layer and a coordinating pink for the script Happy Birthday font. I love the style of this font and the unique look it has! It is so fun! I then adhered these together using liquid glue and added foam tape to the back of the sentiment.
To complete my card I adhered the background panel to an A2 card base, then adhered the streamers, cake and the sentiment! I love how fun and easy this cake die set is to use! This die set has several cake layers which allow you to create so many cake designs and patterns! Once my card was complete I chose a sub sentiment from the Birthday Celebrations Printed Die Cuts pack. I added foam tape and adhered this to my card!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I had a lot of fun and I am thankful for all of you and to Spellbinders for giving me this opportunity to help celebrate them today! Be on the look out for a blog post coming from Spellbinders – there will be amazing projects and so much inspiration!

Natasha
