Hello Crafty Friends! I am super excited to be back today and to share an AMAZING new collection by my talented friend, Bibi Cameron. Her new collection is called Bibi’s Hummingbirds. This new collection is truly beautiful and has so many amazing dies in this new collection, you can view the collection here (Bibi’s Hummingbirds). Here is my first project using the Hummingbird and Lily Etched Dies from the Bibi’s Hummingbirds Collection . So let’s get started.
I started by die cutting the Lily and the Hummingbird dies onto Neenah card stock. Once each part was die cut, I then started to apply distress oxide inks. For the Lilly flower I used (Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss). On the Hummingbird I used (Weathered Wood, Tumbled Glass). Once all the layers were inked I applied darker shades around the edges of the Lilly and Hummingbird using dye inks. I then added water droplets to all my die cuts for added texture. I allowed them to dry, then adhered them together with liquid glue, then set them aside to work on my card panel.
For my card panel I chose a gelli print from my stash. I trimmed the panel using my Tim Holtz deckle edge trimmer. I then distressed the edges a bit more, then added Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Next I added more texture to the gelli print card panel using Hummingbird Texture Stencil. I applied Distress Oxide in Black Soot using one section of the texture stencil. Once this was dry, I applied texture paste through another section of the stencil and then added WOW embossing powder in Blue Aventurine. I heated the paste and powder with my heat tool. I then added a few white splatters to the background for added texture.
Next I added a bit more texture to the card panel edge using paper glaze. I allowed this to dry to touch (less than a minute), then applied foil to the wet areas for added texture. On the bottom of the card panel, I adhered some deli paper from a previous gelli print pull, as well as tissue paper with text.
I then determined the placement for my Lilly and Hummingbird. I adhered these to the card front panel using a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. To complete my card I stamped my sentiment using the Hummingbirds sentiment stamp set. Be sure to check out this set, it has the sweetest sentiments. I completed my card with a button and some May Arts twine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon!
