Hello Crafty friends I am so excited for release day over at Hero Arts! Today is the Hero Arts December 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on release! This month’s release is amazing and it is all about images and words! This kit is so versatile and the contents will allow you to create many projects throughout the year! I am excited to be hopping this month, you will find all the details for the hop listed below. So let’s get started!
For today’s tags I am using contents from both the Classic and Premium Kit. I started by creating the background for my tags on Luxe White Watercolor paper. I used Hero Arts Liquid watercolors: Brights Yellow, Brights Sunshine, Brights Chartreuse, Brights Orange, and Brights Purple. I apply a small amount of color to my work surface, smoosh the paper into the color, dry with a heat tool, add water droplets to the panel, pick up the color with a paper towel, then repeat the process. I continue this process until I have the color and texture I am looking for. I created 2 panels this way for the tag base.
I then used 2 colors of Hero Arts Two Tone Sprays for a panel to use on the alphabet cover die from the kit: Fuchsia Gold and Bright Yellow/Copper. I created a panel using the spray, following the same process as shared above. I allowed the panel to dry, once dry I die cut the panel using the alphabet cover die from the kit. I aso die cut 2 tags from my watercolor panels using the Nesting Tag dies. I then adhered the cover die alphabet onto the tag panel using presicion glue.
I then chose 2 sentiments from the premium kit. I heat embossed them onto Pitch Black card stock with white embossing powder. I then added Hero Glitter paste using a palette knife to various sections of the tag. I love the added texture this provides. On the larger tag I used 2 of the letters that were die cut from the sprays panel (X0) and added them to the large tag. I added gold wax for added interest and texture to the letters.
I then darkened the edges of each tag using Intensified Black Ink with a sponge dauber. I then used the Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink included in the Premium Kit to add splatters to both tags! I added black twine to the top of the tags to complete them! I adhered the sentiments and and the XO and my tags were complete! I had so much fun with these tags!
For my 2nd project I am using the Message Basics stamp set which is a part of this month’s add ons! There are so many amazing stamps and dies in this month’s release, I know you will have so much fun creating!
I started with a panel of Luxe Watercolor paper. I created an ink smooshed background using Hero Arts Reactive Inks: Taffy, Lemon Drop, Berry Smoothie, and Creamsicle. I used the same procress as I shared above using reactive inks (ink on work surface, smoosh paper into color, dry with heat tool, water droplets, pick up color with paper towel, then repeat). Once I had the background colors and textures I was looking for I stamped the Love You and heart image from the Message Basics set across the panel in various places using Intensified Black Ink.
I also added some texture using the Novel Prose stamp. Next I die cut 3 hearts using the Nesting Heart Die. I added texture to each of the hearts using Iridescent Purple Embossing Powder. I then die cut the U from the Hero Letters Die set (S-V) using the Holiday Sparkle Glitter Pack. I die cut 2 additional U’s using Dove White cardstock for added dimension and adhered them together using precision glue.
I wanted a bit more texture on the background panel so I used the new Alphabet Embossing Plate on the panel for added texture! Next I applied Hero Wax in White and Gold to various places on my card panel for added shine and texture. I completed the card by adding splatters using Glimmer and Metallic Ink, as well as Two Tone spray in Black Shimmer.
I had so much fun with this month’s release!!!!!!!!
