Color Block Southwest: Spellbinders

Hi Crafty friends! Welcome back and Happy Friday! Today I wanted to stop in and share with you a new die from Spellbinders – Color Block Southwest – this is part of a new collection Color Block Backgrounds! It’s an awesome new collection and you can see it all here! So let’s get started!

I started with the South West etched die set. I ran this die through my platinum machine 2 time using both Neenah card stock and then gold card stock. I then placed all layers down on my glass mat and chose the layers for my background! I wanted to use parts of this background die as the focal point over a gelli print background I had in my stash! I thought this would be a fun way to show the versatility of this die set! You can use it to create a full background or use sections of the background to create a different pattern!

Next I started to adhere layers of the die cuts together. I kept some layers with white only, then other layers I adhered the gold and white together. I then adhered the layers onto my gelli print base with liquid glue.

To complete my card I chose 2 sentiments. The thanks die cut is from Yana’s Layered Script Sentiments. I die cut this using the same gold card stock and then several layers of white for the inner script. I adhered these together with liquid glue. I added a sub sentiment using the Stitched Alphabet Note Sentiments, Glimmer Hot foil plates. I adhered this with foam tape.

To complete my card I added a few sequins and adhered this to an A2 card base! I had a lot of fun this with this die set and this background has so many options to create a colorful background for your cards!
