Color Block Mini Squares: Spellbinders

Hi Crafty friends! Happy Monday! I am excited to be back today to share with you the Color Block Mini Squares die set from Spellbinders. I love this set and the ability to create amazing patterns and add details to your cards! For today’s card I created a pattern using these mini squares and had a lot of fun! So let’s get started!

For today’s card I started by choosing 3 colors of card stock. I then die cut each color using the Color Block Mini Square die set. I cut several of each color as I wanted to build layers of colors for each square. I also die cut several solid squares using a white card stock. I used the solid white as my background to build the colorful layers. Next I adhered all the squares together using liquid glue. I create a variety of patterns of colors within my squares. Once the squares were all adhered, I set these aside.

Next I created the background for my squares using the April embossing folder of the month from Spellbinders. I trimmed the panel of white card stock and then embossed the panel using the April folder of the month. Next I adhered the panel to an A2 card base and then arranged the squares on top. Once I was happy with the layout, I adhered them to the card front.

Next I die cut the sentiment using a previous small die of the month – September 2021. I die cut the shadow using white card stock and then the inner script using black card stock. I die cut the hello script 3 times and adhered them together using liquid glue.

Next I die cut several white leaves from the Simply Perfect Layered Blooms die set. To complete my card I adhered the leaves using both liquid glue and foam tape. I adhered the sentiment and added a sub sentiment from my stash. I added a few sequins for added shine!
