For today’s card I had so much fun with the amazing new stamp sets! For my first card I am using the adorable new Coffee with a Heart stamp set! I just adore this sweet little heart coffee cup! So let’s get started!
I started by working with my coffee cup image from the new Coffee with a Heart stamp set. I decided to make mine a coffee themed card, however this set has adorable marshmallows too! How fun! I stamped the image using alcohol marker friendly ink and then colored the image using my Tombow ABT pro markers! I love these markers and how easy they are to use! I used colors from the yellow and blue tones (5 packs), as well as others in my stash. I did add a deep blue from my Ohuhu markers as well. I colored the image from darkest to lightest. This is my first time coloring a cup of coffee with alcohol markers, I was a bit nervous, but still wanted to give it a try! Once my cup of coffee was complete I trimmed the image with my scan and cut and then set this aside to work on my background.
For the background I chose to use the awesome large font background called Coffee is Life! I love the style of font on this background! It is AWESOME! I prepped my card stock with my anti static tool and then stamped the image using my WOW embossing ink pad. I then used Twiggy embossing powder! I love the color and texture of this powder! I thought it was perfect for my coffee themed card! I also added a few more elements from the Coffee Components stamp set. I stamped some images in various sections of the background using Versafine ink in Nocturne. Once these were dry, it was time to add some more color!
I used an ink smooshing technique to add color to the background using Distress Oxides in: Rusty Hinge and Salvage Patina. I placed a small amount of ink on an acetate sheet and spritzed it with water. I then added this to the paper/background and “smooshed” the color over the embossed image. I repeated this with both colors adding it in various sections. I then added some Distress Mica Stain in the same way. I then set my background aside to dry as I wanted to add a bit more texture and sparkle too!
Once my background was dry I used the Confetti Heart Stencil from Unity. I placed this over my background and used glitter glaze from Burtus Monroe. I added the glitter glaze in various spots over the background. I removed the stencil and allowed the glaze to dry.
I then die cut the background using a rectangle die cut. I adhered my background to an A2 card base. I used foam tape to adhere the coffee cup. I stamped a fun sentiment from the set and then used Distress Oxide in Antique Linen to soften the white on the sentiment strip. I adhered the sentiment to my card and my fun coffee themed card is complete!
I hope you enjoyed this card! I am had a lot of fun!
