Hello Crafty friends!!!!!! I am super excited to celebrate DieCember® with Simon Says Stamp!!!!!! We are ready to celebrate with an AMAZING blog party! You can find all the details for this epic party over on the Simon Says Stamp blog!
For my first project I am sharing 2 handmade tags using the beautiful new Whirl Nordic Medallion! I love all the Whirl dies and this one is just beautiful! These were so fun and easy to put together! I started by die cutting the whirl medallion on Canson XL watercolor cardstock. I cut 5 medallions all together. Next I placed the medallions on my work surface and spritzed each medallion with Distress Mica Stain in Winterfrost. I set these aside to dry. Once they were dry I added paper glaze for added shine and texture. I applied the glaze with my finger.
Next I chose some holiday pattern paper from my stash. I die cut the paper using Nesting Circle dies. I die cut an additional layer using plain cardstock for each circle. I then adhered all the circle layers together using lliquid glue. I then added Distress Oxide Ink and Distress Ink to the edges of each circle.
Next I dry embossed the smaller circle for each tag using an Altenew embossing folder. I then darkened the textures using Distress Ink. I then adhered the layers of the tags together, as well as added the Whirl Nordic Medallions. Once all the layers were adhered, I added twine for the top of the tag, as well as sentiments from my stash. I added a few Simon Says Stamps gems to the center of each snowflake as well.

For today’s project I am sharing a card using 2 new products from the STAMPtember release: Falling Hearts Embossing Folder and the Chelsea butterfly! I started with a gelli print from my stash. I stamped the Old Letter background along parts of the background using Ground Espresso Archival Ink. Next I placed the Falling Hearts Embossing folder in my die cutting machine with a gelli print from my stash.
Next I added some more color and texture to my dry embossed background using Distress Crayons and Distress Paint. I added the color on top of the hearts. I applied the crayon directly to the raised hearts and rubbed the color gently with a little water and my finger. Next I applied Distress Paint in Salvaged Patina using a sponge. I love the texture from the sponge application.
I then trimmed the background using my Deckle Trimmer. I then used my distress tool and added distress ink in Black Soot to the edge for my texture.
Next I die cut the Chelsea Butterfly from watercolor paper. I then added Lindy’s Magicals to the butterfly die cuts. I used colors from the Industrial Chic pack. I applied one color, then allowed the layer to completely dry. Once the layer was dry, I went back in with more color to create more texture and definition. Once the butterfly was completely dry, I then adhered the butterfly together with liquid glue.
I completed my card with a sentiment strip. I had a lot of fun making today’s card! I hope you like it!
