One of my all time favorite stamp sets is from Simon Says Stamp… Beautiful Flowers! Its so much fun to color and the details in this stamp are truly gorgeous! One of my crafty goals for this year is to learn to use alcohol markers! I am very comfortable with my water brush pens, but alcohol markers are very new for me! I am excited to say I found a marker that works for me and the smell is ok for me too! I am using the altenew artist markers! I am excited to add to my small collection!
I started by stamping the beautiful flowers image on my spectrum noir marker paper. I let my ink dry and then I began coloring. I used the ideas and techniques described in Kathy Rac’s online coloring road trip class! This class is so helpful and I encourage you to check it out! I started my coloring from light moving my way to dark, by adding in multiple layers of color. I even learned how to color smash! So much fun! I then used my arteza colored pencils to add more details within in the nooks and crannies of the images. It is so true how doing this adds more detail and dimension! In the picture below you can see where I added the pencil for more dimension!
I then used an embossing folder to add more details behind my floral image, which I die cut using the coordinating die. I heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set using white embossing powder. The floral image and sentiment were popped up using foam tape. I then used 110 pound cardstock from Michaels (Recollections) for the card base. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge… Lotsa Love
