Hi Crafty friends! I am so excited for the first of the month, it means all the new clubs are here from Spellbinders! For today’s card I am using 2 clubs from Spellbinders: Small Die of the Month – Hex Kaleidoscope Tile and the Clear Stamp of the Month: Hex Tile Stamps. I had so much fun with these 2 clubs! The dies are truly amazing and the details are so beautiful!!!!! Below I am sharing links to all the clubs, value clubs, as well as a set of FAQ’s. So let’s get started!
I love this month’s small die club, the hexagon shapes/kaleidoscopes are just so beautiful! The details and patterns in the dies are amazing! You can truly achieve so many beautiful details with the use of different color card stock! For today’s card I was inspired by a recent color combination by my dear friend Dilay Nacar. I loved a blue and white color combo she used and this is where today’s inspiration came from. When working with dies I do all of my die cutting first. I started by die cutting the large hexagon die 6 times in total. I then worked on the inner hexagons, in a white, light blue, and dark blue color palette. I cut a total of 7 inner hexagons. Once everything was die cut, I glued each of these together. I then created my main card base layer on top of a white panel of card stock. I placed the large hexagon outside layer on a diagonal. I glued 3 of these down. I had some excess on the white panel, then trimmed these with my paper trimmer.
Next I started to work on the inner hexagons. I glued the center white hexagon back into place, then on top glued the white and blue detailed hexagons. I wanted to add a bit more of the navy color card stock, so I ran the large hexagon die back into my platinum machine with navy card stock. I added the rectangles into the main hexagon base. Once everything was glued down, I trimmed the excess off on my card base. I then glued the white panel onto the same navy and light blue card panel for added interest. I then added a thin white strip to the left of the card panel.
I then started to work with the Clear Stamp of the Month – Hex Tiles Stamp! I love these floral images and the layer stamping this set provides! The sentiments also fit inside the hexagon shapes, how clever is that! I stamped the main floral image using Versafine Ink in Nocturne. I then stamped the floral layers using Rubbernecker Colorfuse Inks, set #1 (a combination of yellow inks) and set #12. Once this was complete I then restamped the outer floral using my WOW embossing pad and heat set in Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder. I then fussy cut the floral image. I stamped a sentiment from the CSOM on the navy card stock and heat embossed in gold. I then used foam tape to adhere the floral image and the sentiment. I added this to an A2 card base and my card was complete!
I had so much fun with this month’s Small Die and Clear Stamp! I know you will love them!
