Let’s save those inky Backgrounds |Unity Stamp Company
Hello crafty friends! Have you created a background you aren’t happy with and you are ready to place it in the trash? This is exactly what happened to me this week! So I encourage you to keep them and see what else you can create with it! So let’s get started!
I was working in my journal and had an idea for a journal page, the background I loved but then I was struggling with how to put it all together! So I decided to take the background out of my journal and cut it down into Artist Trading Cards! The background was created using Lindy’s Gang Magicals. You can create colorful backgrounds with magicals, sprays, watercolors, use what you have in your stash!
After I die cut the background into 2 ATC’s I added a stencil to the corners using texture paste. Once the paste dried, I added Gold Hero Wax over sections of the dried paste. I love the added texture the wax provides to the paste. Next I added texture to the backgrounds, I used a few stamps sets from Unity to add the texture. I used: Eiffel Grunge and Reverse Punchinella. Once the stamping on the background was complete, I distressed the edges using black ink. I applied the ink using a finger dauber.
Next I stamped the focal floral images onto each ATC. I used the Prairie Blooms stamp set. I prepped the cards using my powder tool, stamped the florals, and then heat set with clear embossing powder. Next I stamped the sentiments from: Trust it Will Be Okay. I die cut 2 pink hearts from a heat embossed panel. I completed the cards by adhering the hearts and sentiments.
I had a lot of fun making these! I hope this project encourages you to keep backgrounds you are not happy with! I was happy with my end result of my project! Hope you are doing well!
