Hi Crafty friends! I am so excited to be back today to celebrate the new Tonic Studios Stamp Club – Sunshine and Sunflowers release! This amazing new club set by Tonic Studios, is inspired by the super talented Maria Willis! This kit is amazing it has a 6×8 stamp set – this month has large and beautiful sunflower stamps, a corner stamp, as well as beautiful sentiments. The set includes coordinating dies and also allows you to cut out flowers without coloring – perfect for building your own flowers! How fun is that! I can’t wait to use the dies with colored card stock to build my own flowers! Before I share with you a little more about my card, be sure to check below for the details about the AMAZING giveaway, be sure to hop along and comment along the way! You should have arrived here from the super talented Daniel West . I have included a full list of the blog hop below!
So let’s get started! I had so much fun with this kit, the stamps are gorgeous and the dies included are amazing! The tonic dies cut well and you do not need to cut them apart, so there are no burs. When you receive your kit the stamps and dies will be inside a plastic envelope which is perfect for storing your kit! The envelope is compatible with the A5 binder. This kit is sold as a bundle and is limited stock, then it will be retired. I encourage you to check them out, I had so much fun with this kit!
I started by stamping the corner sunflower stamp, bee, and lady bug onto Fabriano hot Press paper using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I then heat set the images and used clear embossing powder. I taped the images to my hard board to help prevent warping when water coloring. I used my karin brush markers to color the image. I work in layers when using these markers and allow each layer to dry before I add more color. I colored the image over a couple days/evenings. I added colored pencils to the nooks and crannies for added dimension.
I die cut the panel using a rectangle die, then die cut the corner flower image, bee, and ladybug using the dies included in the kit. I set this aside as I wanted to build the focal point behind my card. To create the background I chose a striped piece of pattern paper from my stash and trimmed this using a smaller rectangle. I then watercolored a piece of Canson XL water color card using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. Once this panel was dry I used an embossing folder from my stash, in a hexagon pattern to emboss the watercolor panel.
I then added splatters to my flower panel using my Gansai Tambi starry colors. I then stamped a sentiment from the kit and used Banners and Strip dies to trim the sentiment. This die set includes awesome sentiment dies in all shapes and sizes and is an exceptional value! I then adhered all the card elements together using a combination of glue and foam tape to add dimension. I added a few sequins and my card was complete!

The bugs are such a nice addition. This reminds me of my garden in the future…I am WAITING for my line of sunflowers to get bigger and bigger, and bloom. I have a lot of bees and butterflies in my garden, as well as lady bugs, so this is just wonderful to me. I love the spots, too!
